Caplan’s Pair of Goals Propels West Chester Past Bloomsburg
Bloomsburg, Pa. – Junior Alex Caplan (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin) tallied two goals to give West Chester (5-3 3-1 PSAC) a 2-1 PSAC victory over Bloomsburg University on Saturday afternoon. A penalty kick goal by Caplan gave West Chester the lead in in the 52nd minute.Bloomsburg's Spencer Conrad responded with a goal in the 70th minute to tie the game up at one. Caplan made a move around Bloomsburg's goal keeper in the 84th minute, recording the game winning goal for the Golden Rams. Those pair of goals gives Caplan nine points on the season, which leads the team. Freshman goalkeeper Matt Palmer (Bangor, Pa./Bangor) played all 90 minutes, making three saves and allowing one goal. Bloomsburg's Jared Ott had one save, while giving up two goals in 90 minutes for the Huskies. West Chester returns home to face East Stroudsburg University on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 4:30 p.m.
