East Stroudsburg Defeats West Chester 2-0
WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Golden Rams were unable to find the back of the net as East Stroudsburg (3-5-1, 2-3 PSAC) shutout a hosting West Chester (5-4, 3-2 PSAC) squad, 2-0, Tuesday afternoon at Rockwell Field. East Stroudsburg jumped out to an early lead with Casey Choffy's goal at the 10 minute mark. Jonathan Stuppe tacked on another goal in the second half to secure the victory for the Warriors. Freshman goalkeeper (4-3) Matt Palmer (Bangor, Pa./Bangor) made two saves, while giving up two goals in the loss. The Golden Rams made East Stroudsburg's (3-5-1) J.B. Pahls earn the victory, recording seven saves in the shutout. Applying the pressure was senior Christian Benner (Tedford, Pa. / Souderton) with two shots on goal. West Chester will travel to Philadelphia on Monday, Oct. 6th to take on non-conference opponent Philadelphia University at 3:30 p.m.
