West Chester Sweeps IUP, 3-0

INDIANA, Pa. – Marina Sharkey (Newtown Square, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) registered 12 kills and four digs as the Golden Rams captured a PSAC West crossover victory over hosting Indiana University (Pa.) 3-0, Friday morning. West Chester (12-7, 4-6 PSAC) swept IUP (6-11, 2-8 PSAC) by scores of 25-22, 26-24, and 25-19. Julia O'Brien (New Holland, Pa./Garden Spot) and Karleigh Lutz (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) each provided eight kills. Leading the way with 12 digs was freshman Lyndsey Iacobelli (Allentown, Pa./Parkland). In addition, both Rachel Powers (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) and Bethany Gould (Camp Hill, Pa./Cumberland Valley) contributed 10 digs for the Golden Rams. Freshman Annalee Halbert (Port Murray, N.J./West Morris Central) posted 30 assists and seven digs in the victory. The Golden Rams recorded two team blocks, while also managing a .162 hitting percentage for the three sets as compared to the Crimson Hawks' .155. West Chester continues PSAC West crossover play tonight with a match against California University (Pa.) at 5 p.m.
