No. 12 West Chester Shuts Out Clarion, 1-0
WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Senior Dana Hunt (Pittstown, N.J. / Delaware Valley Regional) produced the only goal for the Golden Rams, but it was good enough for a 1-0 victory over Clarion in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference women's soccer match Saturday afternoon, held at Rockwell Field. Hunt was able to find the back of the net in the 64th minute with the assist coming from Nikki Lynch (Limerick, Pa. / Spring-Ford) and Haley Mangiaruga (North Wales, Pa. / North Penn). West Chester (10-1-0, 9-1-0 PSAC) consistently attacked the net, registering a 23 to 1 shot advantage over Clarion. The Bald Eagles' Laura Saussol made several great plays in the net, recording nine saves while giving up one goal. The stifling defense by the Golden Rams only allowed the Golden Eagles to have one shot on goal. Alex Srolis (10-1) (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown East) made that one save as she posted her fifth shutout of the season. The Golden Rams head to Shippensburg, Pa., on October 14th for a PSAC match with Shippensburg University at 4 p.m.
