Parvel’s Pair of Goals Helps West Chester in 2 OT
GREENSBURG, Pa. – West Chester (14-1-0, 13-1-0 PSAC) prevailed in double overtime to defeat hosting Seton Hill, 3-2, in a PSAC matchup on Saturday afternoon. Marissa Valenti (Manassas, Va. / Osbourn Park) gave the Golden Rams an early lead in the 26th minute, but Seton Hill would answer. Erika Wisniewski would capitalize on a penalty kick goal that tied the game at one apiece. The Golden Rams trailed early in the second half as Seton Hill was able to score on a rebound that deflected off of West Chester's goalkeeper. Sophomore Kara Parvel (Whitehall, Pa. / Whitehall) gave West Chester the spark it was looking for by tying the game up with a penalty kick goal at the 65th minute mark. The game would end up in double overtime, where Parvel scored the game winning goal off a corner kick. Parvel's goal was her second of the day, in addition to becoming West Chester's leader in goals with seven on the season. Goalkeeper Alex Srolis (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown East) (13-1) made seven saves, while giving up two goals in 110 minutes of play. Seton Hill's Carolin Edenhofner posted seven saves, while allowing three goals in 110 minutes of action. The Golden Rams return home to end their season with consecutive home games at Rockwell Field, beginning with a PSAC matchup against California University of Pennsylvania on October 31st at noon.
