Women’s Cross Country Finish 11th at the PSAC Championships
MANSFIELD, Pa. – Women's cross country finished 11th out of 18 teams with 242 points at the PSAC Championships hosted by Mansfield University Saturday morning. Placing fifth place out of 153 runners was junior Amanda Eisman (West Chester, Pa. /Henderson)with a final time of 21:45. Eiman's time was the best ever on this course in West Chester history. In addition, Eisman was selected for the third straight season as an All-Conference runner. Eisman's teammate Leigh Manning-Smith (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) earned an All-Conference nod as well for the first time in her collegiate career. Manning-Smith placed 27th, clocked a time of 22:51. Laurel Jones (Chambersburg, Pa. /Chambersburg) came in 39th at 23:13, placing fifth all-time in West Chester history at the course. Coming in 80th was sophomore Mallory Drake (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough), crossing the finish line at 24:11 for seventh all-time for West Chester on the course. The next pair of Golden Rams to cross the finish line were Alindon Smith (Shippensburg, Pa./Big Spring) in 111th at 25:14, while her teammate Sam Russell (Easton, Pa. / Easton Area) was 148th at 29:20. West Chester's performance was 16 points better in team score than the previous season. Claiming the title at the PSAC Women's Cross Country Championship was Edinboro with a team score of 52 points. The last contest of the season for the Golden Rams is the NCAA Atlantic Regional hosted by Slippery Rock University on November 22nd in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania at 10:00 a.m.
