Sicinski’s Career-High 27 Leads West Chester Past USciences
WEST CHESTER, Pa. – West Chester University's women's basketball squad captured a pair of victories in the Carol Eckman Memorial Tournament this weekend, finishing off the two-day event with a win over the University of the Sciences, 77-72, Saturday afternoon inside Hollinger Field House. The Golden Rams (2-0) never trailed in the contest, but held off a furious late run by the Devils (0-2) to secure the win. Brittany Sicinski (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) posted a career night, tying her career-high with 27 points as well as registering nine rebounds and seven assists to propel West Chester to its second win this season. Recording her first double-double of the season was forward Chikisha Steele-Hook (Harrisburg, Pa./Susquehanna Twp.). The junior contributed 13 points and snagged 10 rebounds, instilling energy into this Golden Rams' squad. USciences used the three-point line to its advantage, making 13 3-pointers in the contest. Brianne Traub provided the Devils with 22 points and eight rebounds in the loss. West Chester begins conference play against PSAC rival Millersville University on Wednesday, November 19 at 5:30 p.m. inside Hollinger Field House.
