Men's Soccer Tops Pitt-Johnstown, 3-1

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – Senior captain Brian Schaefer (Dresher, Pa./Upper Dublin) registered a pair of goals to help West Chester sneak past Pitt-Johnstown, 3-1 Saturday afternoon. Schaefer registered the first goal of the contest as a result of a big scramble in the box. Brett Glasco (West Chester, Pa./Rustin) and Nicholas Meola (Avondale, Pa./Kennett) were the pair of Golden Rams who tallied assists on the play. Later on in the second half, Pitt-Johnstown's Colin Harrison evened the game up at one apiece. West Chester would answer as Shaefer found the back of the net two minutes later off of a penalty kick. Chipping in the third goal of the game to seal the deal was senior Miguel Ross (Pottstown, Pa./Pottstown). James Wood (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) earns the win in net to improve to 2-0. The sophomore made one save, while giving up one goal as well. Nate Kleya of Pitt-Johnstown made 11 saves, but surrendered three goals. The Golden Rams continue conference play as they host Mercyhurst on Friday, September 9th inside Rockwell Field at 1 p.m.
