Men’s Cross Country Finishes 11th at Paul Short Invitational
BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Nick Angelina (Media, Pa./Penncrest) and Andrew Dombrowiecki (Ocean, N.J./Ocean Twp.) lead the Golden Rams to an 11th place finish in the men's white 8K event at the Paul Short Run event on Saturday afternoon. Angelina crossed the finish line at 26 minutes, 47 seconds, improving his best time at the Paul Short Run by one full minute. He now owns the sixth-best WCU time in this annual race since records began being kept in 2004. Dombrowiecki crossed one second later. The pair of seniors captured 15th and 16th place for West Chester. "Nick and Andrew are working very well together up front," Comstock stated. "Those two have put together a few solid weeks of good training sessions and the payoff of quality racing is now showing. The next few weeks are crucial for our team. If we can maintain quality training sessions over the next weeks, I am confident the men will see significant improvements come championship time." Teammate Greg Grunwald (Easton, Pa./Easton) was 75th in 28:05, while fellow sophomore Eric Savarese (Oley, Pa./Oley Valley)captured 87th at the 28:21 mark. West Chester freshman Nate Moore (Philadelphia, Pa. / Central) was 132nd in 29:47 and Eric Chapman (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) finished 143rd in 30:03. Overall, West Chester gathered 325 points at the event. The Golden Rams return to action next Saturday for the Mack Cooper Invitational held in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania at 10 a.m.
