Uhle Advances Despite Rain Delay

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The second day of the 2016 PSAC Individual Championships at the Burt Reese Tennis Center was rained out on Saturday after the determination that the courts would not be safe enough to play on.

Before the rain delay was determined, Claire Uhle (Blue Bell, Pa./Wissahickon) cruised 6-0, 6-1 over Bloomsburg's Chloe Berridge to advance to the quarterfinals.

Despite a valiant effort by sophomore Rylee Power (Newtown Square, Pa./Marple Newtown), she would fall 6-3, 5-7, 10-9 in a heartbreaker to California's Jasi Witherspoon.

Due to the rain, Uhle and Maddy Shaak (Myerstown, Pa./Eastern Lebanon County) will play in doubles tomorrow.

The third day of the 2016 PSAC Individual Championships is set to begin tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m.
