Toppi Named Longstreth/NFHCA Division II Offensive Player of the Week
CHANDLER, Ariz. - West Chester's junior forward Rachal Toppi (Glassboro, N.J./Glassboro) earned her third award of the week by being named the Longstreth/ National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II offensive player of the week Wednesday afternoon. Toppi claimed Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) and ECAC Division II offensive player of the week honors earlier this week as well. The junior registered three goals in a pair of victories this past weekend. Toppi continues to lead West Chester's offensive attack by tallying a pair of goals to help the Golden Rams knockoff No. 7 Bloomsburg in a PSAC matchup, 2-1, Saturday afternoon. The Glassboro native then posted her team-leading 14th goal of the season in a 3-1 victory over one of the top teams in Division III in No.7 Ursinus on Sunday. This marks the first time this season that Toppi has received any of these honors. Toppi is the first Golden Ram to be nominated in 2016 for the award.
