No. 3 Women’s Soccer Blanks Lock Haven, 2-0

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Sophomore forward Linzi Wolfe (Quakertown, Pa. / Quakertown) provided a goal and assist to lift No. 3 West Chester past host Lock Haven, 2-0, Wednesday afternoon. West Chester (14-0, 14-0 PSAC) remains undefeated in their 2016 campaign, while Lock Haven drops to (5-9, 4-9 PSAC). Senior Haley Mangiaruga (North Wales, Pa. / North Penn) put the Golden Rams ahead late in the first half to capture a 1-0 heading into halftime. Wolfe logged the assist on the play. Wolfe in the second half sealed the victory by dribbling through several defenders and scoring off a shot that hit the post and rolled into the net. The goal was Wolfe's third total point of the afternoon. Finding Wolfe on the way to pickup the assist was sophomore defender Nikki Caffey (Holland, Pa. / Council South). Senior goalkeeper Alex Srolis (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown East) made one save, while also recording the shutout. She now has 32 career shutouts, tying the school record held by Lyndsie Bernardini (2009-10). With the victory, Srolis improves to 56 career wins and counting in goal for West Chester. The Golden Rams are the only undefeated and untied team remaining within the National Soccer Coaches' Athletic Association (NSCAA) national poll. West Chester returns to Rockwell Field for senior day game against PSAC opponent Clarion on Saturday, October 22nd at 2:30 p.m.
