West Chester Clinches Playoff Berth; Escapes Lock Haven, 3-2
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – West Chester registered three unanswered goals in the second half to eclipse a two-goal deficit and defeat host Lock Haven, 3-2, Wednesday afternoon. With the win, the Golden Rams clinched a berth in the PSAC Tournament next month. After erasing a two goal lead, the Golden Rams' Colin Hester (Camp Hill, Pa. / Camp Hill) setup teammate Tim French (Bensalem, Pa. / Holy Ghost Prep) who knocked in what proved to be the game-winner with less than five minutes remaining in the contest. Lock Haven was in control of the match though, scoring a pair of goals right before and after halftime. West Chester (10-3-2, 7-1-1 PSAC) got on the scoreboard first by junior midfielder Brett Glasco (West Chester, Pa. / Rustin) firing a shot into the far corner off of a Miguel Ross (Pottstown, Pa./Pottstown) penalty kick. Glasco's first goal of the season cut the deficit in half at the 57:05 mark in the second half. Giovanni Mowrey (Bethlehem, Pa. / Notre Dame Green Pond) evened the game at two apiece, gathering the rebound and knocking the ball into an empty net. James Wood (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) made three saves in-between the pipes, while also surrendering the first two goals in the match. Despite Lock Haven having a 11-8 advantage in shots, the Golden Rams were favored 6-5 in terms of shots on goal. West Chester returns to Rockwell Field for Senior Day and its final regular-season home game against PSAC opponent Bloomsburg on Saturday, October 22 at noon.
