Volleyball: Edinboro Downs West Chester, 3-1
WEST CHESTER, Pa. – After sweeping Slippery Rock yesterday, the Golden Rams dropped a tough one to PSAC opponent Edinboro today, 3-1, inside Hollinger Field House Saturday afternoon. Edinboro (19-6, 11-2 PSAC) got the better of West Chester (18-8, 6-7 PSAC), winning the match by the final scores of 25-13, 19-25, 25-10, and 27-25. Despite the loss, West Chester's Jillian Grammer (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) continues to excel by registering 31 assists to go along with seven digs and a service ace. Karleigh Lutz (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) provided a team-high 13 kills for the Golden Rams this afternoon. Both Victoria Cruciani (Phoenixville, Pa./Pope John Paul II) and Abbie Dischert (Wilmington, Del./Concord) managed to produce seven kills. Cruciani chipped in three out of the team's four blocks. The Fighting Scots were able to capture a .255 hitting percentage, compared to West Chester's .112 percentage. Edinboro held a 5-4 advantage in total blocks as well. Nicki Yates (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) recorded 24 digs to give her 46 digs over the past two days. Teammate Emily Ahern (Downingtown, Pa. / Downingtown West) logged 16 digs in the match for West Chester. The Golden Rams travel to Eric, Pennsylvania for their next match against PSAC foe Mercyhurst on Friday, November 4th at 7 p.m.
