Bloomsburg Sneaks Past Men’s Swimming & Diving, 133-129
BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Despite five first-place finishes captured by the Golden Rams, hosting PSAC rival Bloomsburg captured the victory, 133-129, Saturday afternoon. Freshman Tim Tomsuden (Marriottsville, M.D. / Liberty) produced a first place with a time of one minute, 55:57 seconds in the 200 butterfly. Tomsuden also provided third place for the Golden Rams in the 200 freestyle in one minute, 45:70 seconds. Victor Polyakov managed to win the 500 freestyle in four minutes, 40:38 seconds. Additionally, he finished second in the 100 freestyle with a final time of 46:86 seconds. Mike Oliver for West Chester captured the top spot with a time of one minute, 56:09 seconds in the 200 individual medley. The Golden Rams did obtain first and second in the 200 individual medley. Furthermore, Oliver was slated first in the 200 breaststroke with a teammate taking second. In the 100 breaststroke, Oliver achieved second place as well. West Chester's junior swimmer Austin Doss (Hershey, Pa. / Hershey) recorded a final time of 53:21 seconds in the 100 backstroke, which proved to be good enough to earn second. Teammate Ben Francis (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) grabbed first in the 200 backstroke with a time of one minute, 57.45 seconds. West Chester returns home for a diving only meet against New York University Saturday, November 5th at 1 p.m.
