Glasco & Ross Propel West Chester Over Seton Hill, 3-1
GREENSBURG, Pa. – The West Chester University Golden Rams clinched the No. 2 seed and a quarterfinal bye in next weeks PSAC Tournament with a 3-1 victory over host Seton Hill this afternoon on Dicks Sporting Goods Field. West Chester (11-3-3, 8-1-2 PSAC) capitalized on its opportunities, finding the back of the net three times in a PSAC victory to end the regular season. The duo of junior midfielder Brett Glasco (West Chester, Pa./Rustin) and senior forward Miguel Ross (Pottstown. Pa./Pottstown) accounted for all the scoring by the Golden Rams. Glasco registered a pair of goals and an assist for five points to lead the Golden Rams in the contest. The junior blasted a shot from the left side of the goal, which was deflected and rolled in off of Seton Hill's goalkeeper Auston Iddon. This gave West Chester an early 1-0 lead at the 10:48 mark. Seton Hill's Curtis Gallagher evened the game at one apiece with the assist going to Colin Wilson 20 minutes later. With the match evened, Glasco would setup Ross to give the Golden Rams a 2-1 advantage. Ross continues to be a force to be reckoned with as his header proved to be the difference in the second half. His fifth goal on the season ties with teammate Colin Hester for the team lead in the category. Ross would return the favor, setting up Glasco in the 82nd minute to put the game out of reach. Glasco capitalized on a two-on-one opportunity that presented itself for his second goal of the match. Sophomore goalkeeper James Wood (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) did produce four saves, while surrendering one goal in 90 minutes of play to register the win. Seton Hill outshot the Golden Rams 18-12, but West Chester had a 9-5 advantage in shots on goal. Seton Hill had the advantage in corners 6-2. West Chester returns to action for the PSAC semifinals on Friday, November 4th at Mercyhurst. The time and opponent are still to be determined.
