Hayward Claims A Swimming Athlete of The Week From College Swimming

SOMERS, Wisc. – West Chester's senior Tess Hayward (Elizabethtown, Pa. / Elizabethtown) earned female swimmer of the week honors out of the PSAC from College Swimming News, which was announced by that organization Tuesday afternoon. The Elizabethtown native helped the Golden Rams' swimming and diving squad rebounded by defeating host Bloomsburg, 181-81, on Saturday afternoon. Hayward racked up pair of first-place finishes, including the 200 and 500 freestyle. Hayward won the 200 in one minute, 56.57 seconds for West Chester. Additionally, she captured the 500 in a time of 5 minutes, and 12.57 seconds. She also placed second in the 50 freestyle for the Golden Rams. A season ago, Hayward was named to the PSAC Winter Top 10 list.
