Men’s Soccer Takes on Millersville in PSAC Semifinals
WEST CHESTER, Pa. - The West Chester University men's soccer will take on sixth seed Millersville for the semifinals in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Tournament held at Mercyhurst on Friday, November 4th at 1:30 p.m. West Chester clinched the second seed and a quarterfinal bye in the PSAC this week. The Golden Rams in their last seven games are 6-0-1, including a 3-1 victory over Seton Hill on Saturday. Tickets to all rounds of the 2016 PSAC Tournament are $10 for adults and $5 for children. There are no comp tickets available for playoff games. Only PSAC passes will be accepted. Students from PSAC member institutions with a valid ID will be admitted free of charge as well. The Golden Rams (11-3-3, 8-1-2 PSAC) ended in a scoreless tie against Millersville in their only match of the 2016 season. The double overtime affair occurred inside Rockwell Field back in September. West Chester returns to the PSAC Tournament after a one-year absence. Michael Benn's squad in 2014 defeated Slippery Rock, 3-0, in the quarterfinal, but would eventually fall by a final score of 2-1 to No. 7 Mercyhurst in the semifinal. The loss to Mercyhurst was the last time the Golden Rams were in the PSAC semifinals. Claiming the top seed this season and hosting the PSAC Tournament are the Mercyhurst Lakers. They will face (4) Seton Hill on Friday at 11 A.M. The PSAC Championship will transpire on Sunday, November 6th at 1 p.m. Two impact players to keep an eye on for the Golden Rams are Colin Hester and Miguel Ross. Both have registered a team-high five goals for West Chester's offensive attack. Dating back to 2002, West Chester is 2-8-1 in its previous 11 appearances at the PSAC Tournament. West Chester has played for the conference title just once – 2004 – since the tournament was implemented in 1969. The Golden Rams have never won the PSAC Championship.
