Men's Cross Country Prepares For NCAA Regionals In Slippery Rock
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – West Chester's men's cross country squad prepares to take part in the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championships held at Slippery Rock University on Saturday, November 5 at 10:30 a.m. "We are looking to take advantage of the longer distance in an effort to crack into the top 10 regionally," first-year head coach Comstock said. A pair of seniors in Nick Angelina (Media, Pa./Penncrest) and Andrew Dombrowiecki (Ocean, N.J./Ocean Twp.) lead the way for the Golden Rams. "Our front pack of seniors, Andrew Dombroweicki and Nick Angelina, have continued to have stellar training sessions that we expect to translate well towards this weekend," Comstock said. Dombrowiecki was the Golden Rams' top finisher at the PSAC's on October 22 in Kutztown, while his teammate finished five spots behind him in 57th place. The two seniors will look to make an impact on Saturday. With that being said, West Chester's entire squad is looking to improve as Comstock continues to help the team in his first year at the helm. "We need to respect that the 10k is a long distance, which gives plenty of time for things to go sour if you are not patient," Comstock said. "If we can maintain a competitive level of patience early on, then we will have strong finishes in the later stages of the race, which will be the key to our overall success." Other Golden Rams to keep an eye on include: Eric Chapman (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy), Eric Savarese (Oley, Pa./Oley Valley), and Greg Grunwald (Easton, Pa./Easton).
