Women’s Volleyball Sweeps Kutztown in Regular-Season Finale, 3-0

WEST CHESTER, Pa. - After clinching the PSAC Southeastern Division the previous night, the Golden Rams swept the Kutztown Golden Bears on senior day, 3-0, inside Hollinger Field House Saturday afternoon. West Chester (22-10, 9-9 PSAC) concluded their reason-season today as well, defeating Kutztown (6-23, 3-15 PSAC) by the final scores of 25-19, 25-18, and 25-17. Junior Karleigh Lutz (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) led the squad with 16 kills, while also chipping in five digs. Providing 10 kills and a pair of blocks for the Golden Rams was Victoria Cruciani (Phoenixville, Pa./Pope John Paul II). Distributing 45 assists in the victory was Jillian Grammer (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh). The sophomore setter registered 85 assists in a pair of matches this week. In terms of digs, there were three key contributors for West Chester. Nicki Yates (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) tallied a team-high 23 digs, while her teammate Bethany Gould (Camp Hill, Pa./Cumberland Valley) added 21 digs. Senior Rachel Powers (Wallingford, Pa./ Strath Haven) produced 13 digs as well. The Golden Rams claimed a .267 hitting percentage, while Kutztown only managed a .151 percentage in the match. The Golden Bears did edge out West Chester 9-2 in team blocks. West Chester has clinched the eighth seed in the PSAC quarterfinal and will travel to top-seeded Gannon, which will occur on Tuesday, November 15th at 7 P.M.
