Volleyball Begins PSAC Tournament Today at Gannon

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – West Chester travels to Gannon University for the quarterfinal of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference tournament tonight at 7 P.M. The No. 8 Golden Rams (22-10, 9-9 PSAC) are riding a four-game winning streak as they head to Erie, Pennsylvania for the opening round of the tournament against top-seed Gannon (27-3, 16-2 PSAC). In the only matchup this season, West Chester fell 3-1 to the hosting Golden Knights. West Chester won the first set in the contest 25-17, but Gannon rallied to collect the next three sets. The Golden Knights defeated the Golden Rams by the final scores of 17-25, 25-17, 25-15, and 25-16. In the previous match back on November 5th, sophomore setter Jillian Grammer (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) did not participate. However, she will suit up tonight for the Golden Rams. Grammar leads the team with 1,077 assists and is currently second in terms of digs at 287. Another player to keep an eye on is junior Karleigh Lutz (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley), who has been a leader on this squad all season. Last week, Lutz provided 55 kills, 29 digs, four service aces, and a block in four victories for West Chester.
