Women’s Soccer Places Four on All-Atlantic Region; Walsh Major Award Winner
EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – West Chester's midfielder Scarlett Walsh (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) claimed her second honor this major award this season, earning D2CCA All-Atlantic Region Player of the Year to along with her already Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Player of the Year award. The award was announced by that same organization this morning with three other members receiving honors as well. Others nominated were Carly Henry (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge), Alex Srolis (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown East) and Kara Parvel (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall). Walsh led West Chester with nine goals on the year, 26 of them were on goal, and five were game-winners. The senior also registered two assists for her team-high 20 points. Walsh made first-team All-Atlantic Region as well. Joining the senior was the senior back in Henry. She posted her first collegiate goal in a 2-1 victory over East Stroudsburg to advance the Golden Rams to the third round of the NCAA tournament. A pair of seniors who made second-team were Srolis and Parvel. Srolis has been tremendous in-between the pipes, posting a 19-0-1 record with 45 saves and eight shutouts this season. Parvel is second on the team in goals (7) and total points (16), who only trails Walsh in those categories.
