Clarion Downs West Chester, 67-58
WEST CHESTER, Pa. – West Chester's Madison Torresin (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) produced 17 points and 12 rebounds, but it would not be enough as the Golden Rams dropped their first PSAC game of the season this afternoon to Clarion, 67-58, inside Hollinger Field House. This marks Torresin's third double-double out of four games this season, while also chipping in a team-high three steals. The Golden Rams (1-3, 1-1 PSAC) trailed by three at the end of the third quarter, but a 10-3 Golden Eagle spurt to begin the fourth was the difference in the conference matchup. Additionally, Clarion (2-3, 1-1 PSAC) captured 18 points off of 25 West Chester turnovers in the contest. The Golden Eagles' Tyra Polite lead their squad in scoring with 20, while two others added 17 points. West Chester shot 35.6 percent (21-59) from the field and only 10.5 percent (2-19) from behind the arc. Clarion shot a similar percentage from the field, but knocked seven three-pointers. Sophomore Alexis Anderson (Allentown, Pa. / Louis E. Dieruff) did attack the rim for West Chester, contributing 15 points. This was West Chester's first conference loss of the season, after defeating Gannon yesterday. The Golden Rams head on the road next for the first time this season as they travel to Slippery Rock on Saturday, December 3rd with tipoff set for 1 p.m.
