West Chester’s D’Orazio & Chan Capture ECAC Honors
DANBURY, CONN. – West Chester's Bella D'Orazio and Meghan Chan of women's gymnastics garnered ECAC Division II honors for their efforts this week in a quadrangular hosted by Rutgers University inside Livingston Gym Saturday night. Fr., Bella D'Orazio received Rookie of the Week by registering a 9.45 on bars for the Golden Rams over the weekend. Competing from the lead-off spot, the freshman's score represented a season best and marked the third time in as many competitions she has contributed a score for West Chester. Meanwhile, junior Meghan Chan scored the Coaches Choice award. Chan posted a career and team best 9.8 on the beam. The junior finish fourth against Division I competition from Rutgers University, Brown University and nationally-ranked University of Nebraska. Additionally, she recorded a 9.5 mark on the vault for the Golden Rams. These were the first honors for either student-athlete in 2017. This also marks the third time this season West Chester has earned an ECAC honor as Majesta Valentine notched ECAC's Women's Gymnast of the Week award for Division II a week ago.
