West Chester’s Long Receives PSAC East & ECAC Honors
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – West Chester's Tyrell Long (Philadelphia, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) gathered a pair of honors this week, receiving PSAC East Co-Athlete of the Week with Kutztown's Anthony Lee while also being named ECAC's Player of the Week for Division II. Long notched back-to-back double-doubles for the Golden Rams this week against Millersville and Lock Haven. He continues to be a critical factor on both ends of the floor, propelling West Chester past Millersville on Wednesday. The junior posted 24 points, 12 rebounds, three steals, and two blocks. From the floor, Long was 71.4 percent (10-14) and perfect from downtown (3-3). The Bishop McDevitt product followed that performance up by stuffing the stat sheet by contributing 15 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists, six steals, and two blocks in a loss to Lock Haven on Saturday. In both games, Long led the squad in terms of rebounding. Overall, Long came away with 39 points, 26 rebounds, 10 assists, nine steals, and four blocks for the Golden Rams. The pair of honors were the first time Long has received either PSAC or ECAC in his career.
