West Chester Impresses this Weekend; Two School Records Fall
WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – West Chester's women's track and field had a successful showing this weekend in several events. Fr., Kate Woolam registered second in the 800-meter with a time of 2:22.35 at the MU Winter Collegiate Invitational. Woolam now ranks 11th in the PSAC. Fellow freshman Jasmine Cisco provided a seventh place finish at 2:25.88. In terms of the 60-meter hurdles, Caroline DiJosia (Plymouth Meeting, Pa. / Plymouth-Whitemarsh) became a PSAC qualifier with a score of 9.61. Meanwhile, West Chester's throwers competed in the Albright Invitational at Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania. Emily Field (Pottsville, Pa. / Nativity BVM) took home fourth in the weight throw, providing a toss of 40 inches, 8 inches. On Friday night, the team participated in the Fast Track National Invite at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, New York. Kate Lynch (Allentown, Pa./Emmaus) broke the school record in pole vault, hitting an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the process. Lynch finished third in the college section at 11 feet, 7 ¾ inches. Teammate, Sammi Lowery (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) finished eighth in the event as well. Jr., Sarah Kosenske (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) finished second in triple jump, breaking her own school record with a score of 38 feet, 8 ¼ inches. She also finished second in the college section of long jump at 17 feet, 4 ¼ inches. Fr., Carly Greco (Manahawkin, NJ / Southern Regional) finished sixth in the college section of long jump with 17 feet, 2 ¼ inches. The trio of Emily Dusellier (Harleysville, Pa. / Souderton), Allison Lewis (Montrose, Pa. / Montrose), and Laura Slavich (Havertown, Pa. / Haverford) all ran seasons bests in the 800-meter with times of 2:16.34, 2:18.16 and 2:18.91. Those times move them to number second, fifth, and eighth, respectively, on West Chester's top ten list.
