Valentine & Brent Take Home ECAC Honors
DANBURY, Conn – West Chester's Majesta Valentine (Wilmington, Del.) and Madison Brent (Waxhaw, N.C.) registered Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) honors for Division II after an impressive showing at the Pink Invitational held inside the Philadelphia Convention Center Friday evening. Valentine continues to excel in her senior campaign, earning another Gymnast of the Week award. She managed to put together another record-break performance in the meet against the University of Maryland, Temple and Southern Connecticut State University. The Delaware native tied her school record in the all-around (39.3) in addition to taking the top spot in the event. She also tied for first on floor with a score of 9.925, and claimed first on beam with a score of 9.875 to set a new program record in the event. Brent's performance on the floor landed her the Specialist of the Week. The junior shined against Division I competition, posting a career-best 9.85 on the floor. That score tied for fourth as well as helping the Golden Rams break the team program record in the event. West Chester continues to pile up honors, considering this was Valentine's fifth honor and the second for Brent. Overall, West Chester has tallied 12 honors thus far this season.
