Swanger Scores ECAC’s Gymnast of the Week Honors

DANBURY, Conn – Sr., Selena Swanger (Gettysburg, Pennsylvania) was named Gymnast of the Week by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) for Division II after competing in a pair of meets this week. At the Maryland Five meet Wednesday evening, the senior began the week with a season-best score of 9.7 on vault, and also scored 9.725 on floor and 9.65 on beam. Swanger faced Division I competition in the meet by going against the University of New Hampshire, Temple, the University of Maryland, and the College of William & Mary. On Sunday, she hit qualifying marks at the UPenn Quadrangular. Swanger qualified in the vault (9.65), beam (9.575) and floor (9.675) in a quad-meet that featured the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Bridgeport, and Penn State University. Swanger went 3-for-3 in both of West Chester's meets last week. Overall, this was West Chester's 13 honor this season, while being Swanger's first.
