Dressler Scores PSAC Honors after Performance at Russmatt Invitational
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – West Chester's Shane Dressler (York Haven, Pa./Red Land) put up video game like numbers at the plate this week to score Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) athlete of the week honors.
The junior registered a pair of hits in each of West Chester's games down at the Russmatt Invitational this week (10-13) to accumulate a .769 batting average with four RBIs.
Dressler went 3-for-4 with an RBI single to right field in an 8-4 victory over sixth-ranked Grand Valley State on Monday. In a doubleheader against No. 24 Flagler, he hit a solo shot in the third and added a RBI single in the fifth to lift them to a 7-0 win. Dressler finished 2-for-3 in the nightcap.
In his final performance against Wayne State, the junior went 2-for-3 with a triple. Overall, Dressler's bat is a particular reason why West Chester won three out of four games in the invitational this week.
This is the first honor for West Chester this season.
