Gursay Takes First in Long Jump at the 34th Millersville Metrics
MILLERSVILLE, Pa. –West Chester's men's track and field team completed competition at the 34th Millersville Metrics inside Biemesderfer Stadium on Saturday. D'Andrew Gursay (Levittown, Pa./Conwell-Egan) registered his second first place honor of the spring with a win in the long jump today. The junior received the top spot with a leap of 21 feet, 5.25 inches. In the discus, Nick Robinson (Aston, Pa./Tatnall) hit a new personal best with a throw 145 feet, one inch. Robinson received third in the process for the Golden Rams. Coming in third as well, but in the hammer throw was Bryce Sadler (Marietta, Pa./Donegal). Sadler hit a new personal record with a throw of 148 feet, one inch. In the shot put, Sadler produced fifth (43' 9¼") while Robinson was right behind him in sixth (43' 6½"). Jr., Colin McClusick (New Hope, Pa. / New Hope-Solebury) took home third in the 800-meter run by clocking in a time of 2 minutes, 1.06 seconds. Teammate, Ryan Heimbach (Collegeville, Pa / Perkiomen Valley) claimed third in the 110-meter hurdles (16.05). In the 1,500-meter run, West Chester's Josh Coakley (Honey Brook, Pa. / Twin Valley) was sixth at 4 minutes, 10.91 seconds. West Chester returns home to John A. Farrell Stadium next as they host the two-day WCU Invitational, beginning on Friday at 3 p.m.
