West Chester’s Men’s Golf Positioned Fourth in Atlantic Regional Rankings
INDIANAPOLIS, IN. – In the first NCAA regional ranking of the year, West Chester's men's golf has been positioned fourth in the Atlantic regional rankings. The squad has finished second, third, and fifth in the three outings this spring. At the Browngolf Invitational held at the Foxfire Resort, West Chester placed second overall while Drew Patterson (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) finished runner-up. In the Coaches Invitational Classic, the team claimed third as sophomore Tyler Maiman (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) shot a team-best on the course. He jumped six spots on the third day and a total of 19 spots altogether from the opening round. His efforts put him tied for sixth (226) as he manufactured a hole-in-one as well. His efforts placed him as the ECAC DII Men's Golfer of the Month for March. Lastly, Patterson finished in a three-way tie for first place, and West Chester University's men's golf squad finished tied for fifth overall at the Oglebay Intercollegiate Invitational on the Arnold Palmer Design course at Oglebay Resort. Patterson's 67 in the second round was the lowest score by a Golden Rams' golfer since Conor Lefevre shot a 66 in 2013 The men are currently finishing up the second day of the Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational at the Penn Oak's Golf Course. The next time they will be in action after today will be April 17th, when they travel to Indiana, Pennsylvania for the Cecil Spadafora Invitational.
