A Pair of School Records Fall at the Chester Quarry Meet
CHESTER, Pa. – West Chester's women's 4x100-meter relay team set a new school record this afternoon at the Chester Quarry Meet inside Leslie C. Quick, Jr. Stadium. The relay team consisting of Jasmine Noble, Alyson Hall, Emily Magnant, and Caroline McLaughlin posted the record, while being just .17 off of a NCAA provisional standard in the process (47.17). McLaughlin was not done yet, breaking her own school record in the 400m hurdles with a first-place finish of 61.43. Teammate, Amanda Castellano was third with a time of 63.83. McLaughlin contributed third in the 100m hurdles as well. In the 800-meter, junior Allison Lewis (2:14.13) and freshman Kate Woolam (2:14.25) placed second and third in the event. Their times were less than one second away from a NCAA provisional mark as well. West Chester exceled in the 200-meter by taking four of the six top spots. Magnant took the top spot with a time of 25.29. Hall finished second (25.65), while Amanda Hegarty was third (25.69) and Allison King sixth at 26.18 seconds. The 100-meter saw three Golden Rams in the top five with Hall second (12.56), Magnant fourth (12.723), and Hegarty fifth (12.724). Fr., Diana Dunn claimed a top five finish in the 1500-meter by producing fourth at 4 minutes, 48.66 seconds. The duo of DeJanee Fells and Dara Lindsey provided second (58.32) and third (59.37) in the 400m for the Golden Rams. West Chester registered three of the top five spots in the 4x400-meter relay as well. The "A" squad earned first, while "B" was slated fourth and "C" finished behind them. So., Holly Szita came away second in the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, one inch. Teammates Katerine Lynch and Sam Lowery were slated one in the pole vault. They both scored 10 feet, 8.25 inches in the event. Jr., Sarah Kosenske won the long jump with a leap of 17 feet, 6 inches. Taylor Pugh came in just behind Kosenske with a score of 37 feet, 4.5 inches. The triple jump had Kosenske earn first, while Pugh was second and Olivia Embleton fifth. So., Emily Field tacked on another top finish by winning the javelin with a throw of 127 feet, 5.5 inches. She moved up to second on West Chester's all-time list. The Golden Rams finish up the regular season with the Widener Invitational next Saturday.
