Pickett & Norman Shine at Chester Quarry Meet
CHESTER, Pa. – West Chester's DeShaun Pickett provided the men's track and field squad with a pair of victories today in the 100m (10.85) and 200m (21.80) at the Chester Quarry Meet inside Leslie C. Quick, Jr. Stadium. Justus Norman registered the top spot in the men's long jump, tallying a score of 22 feet, 10.5 inches. The junior also contributed a second-place finish in the triple jump (45 feet, 6.25 inches). Norman's teammate in Joe Adighibe added fourth (21 feet, 9.5 inches) and became a PSAC qualifier in the process for the long jump. After being named ECAC Field Athlete of the Week, sophomore Chris Mallee won the javelin throw. His toss of 175 feet, 6.5 inches earned him eighth on West Chester's all-time list. Bryce Sadler came away third in the hammer (144', 11.25") and fourth in the shot put for the Golden Rams with a toss of 45 feet, 4.75 inches. Teammate, Shawn Young added sixth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 57.79 seconds. The 4x400-meter "A" relay squad finished in fourth with the efforts of Young, Pickett, Josh Coakley, and Ryan Johnson. West Chester finishes up the regular season with the Widener Invitational next Saturday.
