Vannicolo Produces Ninth in Mondschein Multi’s
KUTZTOWN, Pa. – West Chester's senior Colin Vannicolo (Newtown Square, Pa./Marple Newtown) finished ninth overall in the Mondschein Multi's at Kutztown University this afternoon. Vannicolo came away from the two-day decathlon with a total of 5,775 points, while his teammate Brady Thayer (Hanover, Pa. / South Western) registered 21st at 3,843 points. The senior from Newtown Square completed half of the events on the first day of competition Thursday. He posted times of 11.57 seconds in the 100-meter sprint and 51.44 in the 400m event for the Golden Rams. The senior in the long jump leaped 22 feet, 7.25 inches and in the high jump added a 5 feet, 11.5 inches. Meanwhile, in the shot put he registered a throw of 33 feet, three inches. The second day of competition wrapped up the remaining events. He competed in the 110-meter hurdles (15.43) in addition to the 1500-meter at 4 minutes, 40.36 seconds. Vannicolo contributed a score of 137 feet in the javelin throw as well as a toss of 90 feet, 10 inches in the discus throw. He gathered a NH in the pole vault as well. The Golden Rams return to action tomorrow morning at the Chester Quarry Meet in Chester, Pennsylvania.
