West Chester Men Gather Three Wins at Widener Invitational
Widener Invitational Results CHESTER, Pa. – The rain did not slow down West Chester's men's and field team at the Widener Invitational, collecting three first-place finishes inside Leslie Quick Stadium Saturday. Winning the long jump for the second consecutive week was Justus Norman (Lancaster, Pa. / Conestoga Valley). The junior leaped his way for a first-place at 22 feet, 11.25 inches. He also obtained second in the triple jump (46 feet, .75 inches). Claiming the top spot for the second week as well was fellow junior DeShaun Pickett (Philadelphia, Pa.). Pickett won the 100m (10.84) and 200m (21.96) once again for the Golden Rams. Meanwhile, Joe Adighibe (Collegeville, Pa. / Perkiomen Valley) provided fourth in the long jump (21 feet, 4.5 inches). West Chester's Colin Vannicolo (Newtown Square, Pa./Marple Newtown) registered third in the pole vault with a score of 13 feet, 3.5 inches. Vannicolo and Ryan Heimbach (Collegeville, Pa / Perkiomen Valley) posted fifth and sixth in the 100m hurdles for the Golden Rams. Vannicolo crossed the finish line at 15.37 and Heimbach was right behind him. Sr., Andrew Dombrowiecki (Ocean Township, NJ / Ocean Township) was a PSAC qualifier in the 10K. His time of 32 minutes, 52.71 seconds earned him fourth in the event. So., Nicholas Robinson (Aston, Pa./Tatnall) provided West Chester with a fourth-place finish in the men's discus at 143 feet, 4 inches. Teammate Bryce Sadler (Marietta, Pa./Donegal) came away sixth at 139 feet, 6 inches. In terms of the shot put, Sadler and Robinson finished tied for eighth. Robinson in the process was a PSAC qualifier with a toss of 44 feet, 8 inches. Lastly, Gregory Raudenbush (Schuylkill Haven, Pa / Blue Mountain) produced first in the hammer as an unattached score (51.30m). Sadler was also seventh in the event for the Golden Rams. This was the last invitational for West Chester before PSAC Championships. The Championships are set for Thursday, May 4th inside Redman Stadium at Bloomsburg University.
