Pickett & Norman Score ECAC DII Honors in Back-to-Back Weeks
DANBURY, Conn. – Juniors' DeShaun Pickett (Philadelphia, Pa.) and Justus Norman (Lancaster, Pa. / Conestoga Valley) brought West Chester's men's track and field squad a pair of Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) DII honors for the second consecutive week. The pair tallied the top spot in three out of four events they participated in at the Widener Invitational Saturday. Pickett registered first-place in the 100 and 200-meter event for the Golden Rams. He claims the Track Athlete of the Week for the third time this season. In the 100m, he raced his way to first in a time of 10.84 seconds. He proceeded to claim the top spot in the 200m by clocking in a time of 21.96 seconds. Meanwhile, Norman leaped his way to Field Athlete of the Week. He earned first in the long jump at 22 feet, 11.25 inches. The junior also obtained second in the triple jump by posting a score of 46 feet, .75 inches. Overall, West Chester has gathered one PSAC award (Norman) to go along with seven ECAC honors. The ECAC winners for the Golden Rams have been Pickett (three times), Norman (twice), D'Andrew Gursay, and Chris Mallee.
