West Chester’s McLaughlin & Field Capture ECAC DII Honors

DANBURY, Conn. – West Chester's Caroline McLaughlin (Pottstown, Pa./Pope John Paul II) and Emily Field (Pottsville, Pa. / Nativity BVM) produced Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) DII honors for their performance on Saturday at the Widener Invitational. McLaughlin came away with the Track Athlete of the Week from the ECAC. She helped West Chester register two first-place finishes on Saturday. McLaughlin captured the top spot in the 400-meter with a time of 57.88 seconds. She also was a member of the West Chester's 4x100m relay team that scored first-place honors (48.12). Field on the other hand received Field Athlete of the Week for the first time this season. The sophomore gathered a victory in the javelin, throwing an impressive 122 feet, 8.75 inches. This is the eighth award that the Golden Rams have claimed this season. McLaughlin leads the way with three honors, while Sarah Kosenske has two. Amanda Kodis, Emily Magnant, and Field have all won one honor this spring.
