West Chester’s Women Eyes Up 2017 PSAC Outdoor Championships

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – West Chester University women's outdoor track and field team has 21 student-athletes heading to the 2017 PSAC Outdoor Championships held inside Redman Stadium at Bloomsburg University on Thursday, May 4th. Tickets to the 2017 PSAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships includes all-session passes at $15 for adults and $7 dollars for students. Price per session/day are set at $10 for adults and $5 for students. Free admission for all PSAC students with University ID and PSAC pass holders. The event will run from Thursday, May 4th through Saturday, May 6th. West Chester has a trio of players in the 100m, including Alyson Hall, Jasmine Noble, and Emily Magnant. Both Magnant and Hall will also compete in the 200-meter. Magnant is slated sixth in the event. In terms of the 800-meter, there are six members of West Chester's squad competing. Allison Lewis is placed second, while freshman Kate Woolam is right behind her in third. Meanwhile, Laura Slavich is sixth and Emily Dusellier tenth. Jasmine Cisco alongside Diana Dunn round out the six members for the event. Dunn qualified for the 1500m as well, registering a time of 4:46.88 at the Paul Kaiser Classic. Lewis is also competing in the event and is slated 23rd for the Golden Rams. The 100 high hurdles consists of four members of West Chester's team. Leading the way is Caroline McLaughlin at 12 and senior Sarah Garner in 14th. McLaughlin has excelled this spring, accumulating three Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) DII honors. Sophomore's Caroline DiJosia and Taylor Pugh are the other pair in the event for West Chester. Additionally, McLaughlin was an NCAA provisional qualifier and is ranked third in the 400 high hurdles. She clocked in a time of 1:01.43 at the Chester Quarry Classic last month. Teammate Amanda Castellano is two spots behind McLaughlin in the event. So., Amanda Kodis registered a qualifying time in the 3,000 steeple for the Golden Rams. She produced a qualifying time of 11:52.67 at the Widener Invitational. Fellow sophomore Holly Szita registered a third-place ranking in the high jump. The pole vault had Kate Lynch and Samantha Loweryqualified. All three student-athletes leaped their way for qualifying scores at the Widener Invitational. Meanwhile, junior Sarah Kosenske will be competing in the long and triple jump for the Golden Rams. At the WCU Invitational, she became an NCAA provisional qualifier in the triple jump. She currently holds the program record in the triple jump and is third in the PSAC for that event and 19th for the long jump. DiJiosia and freshman Carleigh Greco are the other pair of Golden Rams competing in the long jump. The triple jump will have Pugh ninth as well as Olivia Embleton 17th, both of which qualified at West Chester's WCU Invitational. The final person rounding out the 21 student-athletes is Emily Field in the javelin. Last season, West Chester finished eighth with a total of 45.5 points at the PSAC Outdoor Championships.
