West Chester’s Men Earn 10th at 2017 PSAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships
BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – West Chester's men's track & field team accumulated 40 points to register 10th at the 2017 PSAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships on the final day of competition. Jr., Justus Norman (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) brought West Chester a third-place finish in the triple jump after setting a new school record as well as earning individual championship in the long jump yesterday. Norman leaped 47 feet, 3.50 inches in the triple jump today. Teammate D'Andrew Gursay (Levittown, Pa./Conwell-Egan) was sixth in the triple jump, providing a jump of 45 feet, 4.25 inches. In the 100m and 200m dash, West Chester's DeShaun Pickett (Philadelphia, Pa./Gerard College) raced his way to fifth in both events. Pickett received a time of 10.84 in the 100m, while posting a 21.74 in the 200m. The 4x400m relay had West Chester take home eighth with a time of 3:22.07. Their squad consisted of Pickett, Shawn Young (Doylestown, Pa. / Central Bucks West), Colin McClusick (New Hope, Pa. / New Hope-Solebury), and Colin Vannicolo (Newtown Square, Pa. /Marple Newtown). So., Josh Coakley (Honey Brook, Pa. / Twin Valley) added 10th by clocking in a time of 4:05.78 in the 1500m run. Meanwhile, senior Ryan Heimbach (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) was eighth in the 110m hurdles at 15.54.
