West Chester’s Women Take Fourth at 2017 PSAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships
BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – West Chester's women's track & field team earned fourth-place with a total 66.50 points at the 2017 PSAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships on the final day of competition. West Chester cracked the top five in the championships for the first time since 1988. The Golden Rams continued to shine in the 4x800m relay, earning the top spot once again after having been crowned at the PSAC Indoor Championship back in February. The foursome of Laura Slavich (Havertown, Pa./Haverford), Emily Dusellier (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton), Kate Woolam, and Allison Lewis (Montrose, Pa. / Montrose) registered a winning time of 9:18.85. Their time also ended up being the second best time in program history. West Chester's 4x100-meter relay team produced first in the event with a time of 47.28 as well. The team consisted of Jasmine Noble (Chalfont, Pa. / Central Bucks South), Alyson Hall (West Chester, Pa./East), Emily Magnant (Horsham, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham), and Caroline McLaughlin (Pottstown, Pa./Pope John Paul II). In the 4x400m relay, the Golden Rams produced second after winning the event a season ago. Receiving second-place with a time of 3:52.06 were the likes of DeJanee Fells (York, Pa. / Central York), Lewis, Magnant, and McLaughlin. McLaughlin was not done yet, claiming third in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:01.99. Magnant also added a third-place finish in the 200m dash (25.36). Fr., Diana Dunn (Media, Pa./Penncrest) contributed 10th in the 1500m run by clocking in a time of 4:52.19. In the field, junior Sarah Kosenske (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) provided sixth in the triple jump with a leap of 38 feet, 8.25 inches. So., Holly Szita (Allentown, Pa. / Salisbury) tied for sixth in the high jump with a score of five feet, 3.25 inches. Fellow sophomore Emily Field (Pottsville, Pa. / Nativity BVM) registered fifth in the javelin throw by posting a toss of 129 feet, six inches.
