NEW ORLEANS, L.A. — West Chester's women's track and field team had three members of its squad receive All-Region honors by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the 2016-17 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field season. West Chester saved its best for last at the 2017 PSAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, finishing in fourth-place with a total 66.50 points. Their performance landed them in the top five, which was the first time since 1988. The relays were where the team shined with both the 4x800 and 4x100m relay teams claiming the top spot and All-PSAC honors in the process. Jr., Allison Lewis (Montrose, Pa. / Montrose) was apart of the 4x800m squad that registered the win with a time of 9:18.85 and was recognized by the USTFCCCA. Her contributions helped the foursome produce the second best time in program history. Meanwhile, Caroline McLaughlin (Pottstown, Pa./Pope John Paul II) contributed toward the 4x100m relay that was slated first. The foursome clocked in a time of 47.28 to earn first-place. Lastly, Sarah Kosenske (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) rounds out the third junior on the Golden Rams' squad to claim honors. She added sixth in the triple jump for the Golden Rams. The junior leaped an impressive 38 feet, 8.25 inches. The process for the distinction was broken down by the top five individuals in each event from their respected region. West Chester's Kosenske, Lewis, and McLaughlin came out of the Atlantic Region. The victories in the relay races earned Lewis as well as McLaughlin All-PSAC. There was a total of 621 women from 147 different institutions made up the 925 women's All-Region honors.
