Men’s Soccer Ends in Scoreless Tie at Wilmington (Del.)
WILMINGTON, Del. – After 110 minutes of action, West Chester ended in a scoreless tie against host Wilmington (Del.) on a rainy Wednesday afternoon inside WU Athletics Complex. Both squads were even in terms of shots, gridlocked at 10. However, the Wildcats (0-1-2) held an advantage in corner kicks at 9-5. West Chester (1-1-1) did manage to put four shots on goal, but Wilmington's goalkeeper Vinny Tasca was able to keep the Golden Rams off the scoreboard. One of which came in the final minute as Tasca denied Brett Glasco (West Chester, Pa./Rustin) from knocking in the game winner. Sr., GK Matt Palmer (0-0-1) (Bangor, Pa. / Bangor) earned his first start of the season in-between the pipes this afternoon. The Golden Rams' defense helped Palmer, not allowing any shots on goal. This will be the last non-conference match until the end of month as the Golden Rams begin conference play. West Chester returns to Rockwell Field next as the Golden Rams face the Warriors of East Stroudsburg on Tuesday, September 12th at 4 p.m.
