Saturday's Football Game Set to be Pink Out and Coaches To Cure MD
WEST CHESTER, Pa. – West Chester University's football game this Saturday against PSAC East rival Kutztown is to be the annual "Pink Game" with Unite for Her and Coaches to Cure MD. Be sure to wear your pink as the game is slated for a 12:06 p.m. kickoff. Unite for Her will be selling t-shirts for $10 dollars apiece on game day both inside John A. Farrell Stadium and at all gates. All fans are encouraged to wear pink to support Breast Cancer Awareness. Alongside Unite for Her is the Coaches To Cure MD program. This marks the 10th-consecutive year, college football coaches nationwide will join in support of the Coach To Cure MD program, held during games of Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017. On the weekend of Sept. 30, American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) members will once again wear the traditional Coach To Cure MD logo patch on the sidelines, and college football fans will be asked to donate to research projects supported by Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy (PPMD), the largest, most comprehensive nonprofit organization in the U.S. focused entirely on Duchenne. Coach To Cure MD began in 2008 with more than 200 schools and 2,675 coaches involved. Ten years later, that effort has expanded to 620 different schools and more than 11,350 coaches wearing the logo patch on the sidelines and participating in Coach To Cure MD events. This week is also PSAC Sportsmanship Week around the conference, which means all teams will showcase their continued dedication to sportsmanship by participating in a pregame handshake. Saturday's game marks the 63rd matchup between the Golden Rams and Golden Bears, who both enter this weekend with 3-1 records.
