West Chester’s Men Earn 14th at Paul Short Invitational
BETHLEHAM, Pa. – West Chester's men's cross country provided a 14th place finish at the Paul Short Invitational this afternoon. The men competed in the White 8K meet at Lehigh University. The Golden Rams accumulated 344 points to finish 14th out of the 36 teams that competed. As a team, the total time was 2:16.28. So., Dylan Smiley (Phoenixville, PA / Phoenixville) registered 12th for West Chester, crossing the finish line at 26:14. He maintained a 5:17 pace to be the top finisher for the squad. Teammate Greg Grunwald (Easton, Pa. / Easton) contributed a time of 26:49, placing him 36th. Coming in 93rd and 94th for the Golden Rams were Eric Chapman (Langhorne, Pa. / Neshaminy) and Stephen Kraus (Easton, Pa. / Easton Area). Chapman arrived at a time of 27:42, while Kraus finished three second later. Jr., Eric Savarese (Oley, Pa. / Oley Valley) posted a time of 27: 58 for 109th. A pair of freshmen in James Jacobson (York, Pa. / Dallastown) and Michael Filippo (Laurel Springs, N.J. / Highland Regional) arrived after 28-minute marker. Jacobson registered 114th (28:08) and Filippo was 134th (28:23). Up Next West Chester heads to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania next for the Gettysburg Invitational on Saturday, October 14th. This is the last competition before the PSAC Championship. NOTES Dylan Smiley ran the 5th fastest and Greg Grunwald the 10th fastest times for a west chester runners on Lehigh's 8k course.
