James Earns PSAC East Offensive Athlete of the Week & ECAC DII Rookie of the Week

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – R-Fr., WR Rasheem James (Philadelphia, Pa./Ben Franklin) earned the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Offensive Athlete of the Week for his performance on Saturday against Kutztown, which was announced by that same organization this morning. James also scored the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Rookie of the Week. James provided six catches for 142 yards and a touchdown to help down PSAC East rival Kutztown, 27-21. The Ben Franklin product played a crucial role, catching a pass over the middle on a 3rd-and-10 play and raced 85 yards for a score that built West Chester's 21-6 advantage with just 3:30 left in the third quarter. That play was the turning point as the catch-and-run gave West Chester a 15-point advantage. Thus far, James has a team-best 405 receiving yards. He is also tied for the team lead in receptions (21) and touchdowns (5). This marks the second consecutive week that a member of West Chester's offense received the honor. Last week, quarterback A.J. Long earned it for his production at Lock Haven. This is the third honor of the fall for the Golden Rams and the second for James.
