East Stroudsburg Edges WCU in Penalty Kicks
WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) semifinal went down to the wire with East Stroudsburg (14-3-1) prevailing in penalty kicks to advance to the final over host West Chester (13-3-1) this afternoon in Rockwell Field. How it Happened
Both squads played to a scoreless tie after the end of the second overtime with each having opportunities to be victorious in regulation.
Sr., GK Matt Palmer (Bangor, Pa./Bangor) played all 110 minutes in addition to penalty kicks. Over the course of the match, Palmer produced four saves.
East Stroudsburg's Will Boerema contributed three saves and 110 minutes as well. However, He was replaced by teammate Steven Robak for penalty kicks.
Gridlocked at 4-4 in penalty kicks, Robak saved Daniel Grindrod (Neshaminy / Feasterville, PA) shot to force another round. East Stroudsburg's Eddy Enowbi converted the next kick and Robak stopped Stephen Thompson (Mechanicsburg, PA / Cumberland Valley) to advance.
