Men’s Soccer Readies for NCAA Tournament at Rockwell Field
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. –West Chester University's men's soccer squad will be making a return trip to the NCAA DII Tournament as the Golden Rams received the second seed in the Super Region 1-Atlantic Region and will host the second round of the tournament. The West Chester Golden Rams will host third-seeded East Stroudsburg University Warriors on Saturday inside Rockwell Field at 1 p.m. Car-pooling is also very strongly encouraged. Admission for each day of the tournament play will be as follows: Ticket prices: Adults $7.00, Students with I.D./Senior Citizens $3.00, and Children between the ages of 2-12 are $1.00. -Children under the age of 2 shall be admitted free when accompanied by an adult. West Chester (13-2-2) makes its third appearance overall since moving to the ranks of Division II in the 1980s and its first repeat appearance in school history. The No. 2 seed is also the team's highest seed in the DII Tournament in school history and marks the first time that West Chester will host an NCAA DII Tournament game. West Chester fell to East Stroudsburg in the PSAC semifinals. The Golden Rams made seven trips to the big dance throughout the 1960s and early 1970s, before the NCAA split into three divisions, winning the NCAA national championship in 1961. Head coach Michael Benn is making his second appearance in the NCAAs as mentor to the Golden Rams.
